Legislation creating a Natural Resources Commission for the Upper Peninsula is expected to be introduced in the state Legislature. It is in response to the statewide NRC vote to ban baiting and feeding of deer in the core chronic wasting disease area in parts of Dickinson, Menominee and Delta Counties. State Rep. Beau LaFave of Iron Mountain says it has the support of the all the U.P. legislators.
