Delta County Commissioners agreed to go ahead with the engineering portion of the ORV campground at Rapid River Falls Park but have not yet agreed to continue with the whole project. The county is being told the project could cost an additional $40,000 because of rising construction costs associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

The ORV campground is not the only project affected by rising costs. The Delta County Solid Waste Authority has asked the county finance committee for COVID-19 funds to help pay for construction of a new cell at the Delta County Landfill. In the planning stages for two years, the cost of the new cell is now expected to double.
