A 68-year-old Gladstone man died in a traffic crash early Friday afternoon east of Rapid River. The Michigan State Police say 56-year-old William Rose was westbound  on US-2 when black ice caused him to lose control of his vehicle on the bridge east of the Rapid River School. The passenger in Rose’s vehicle, Stanley Chilicki, was pronounced dead at the scene.
