In High School Girls Basketball last night, the Gladstone Braves snapped a two game losing streak with a 52-44 win over Manistique, and North Central rolled past Superior Central 75-21.

Sportscast Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020

The Bay College mens basketball team defeated Finlandia 99-72 last night at the YMCA gym.  The Norse had six players score in double figures, led by Christian Alexander with 22 points.  Bay improves to 16-7 and travels to Miwaukee Saturday to face the Bryant and Stratton Bobcats.

Sportscast Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020

In High School Boys Basketball last night, the Escanaba Eskymos held off Manistique 77-70.  Peyton Fedell scored 27 points and Carter Hudson added 21 for the Eskymos who improve to 8-4 on the season.  Esky travels to Sault Sainte Marie Saturday.

Sportscast Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020

In High School Boys Basketball last night, Norway edged Bark River Harris 60-58, Menominee blasted Kingsford 75-36 and Munising downed Engadine 57-39.  Tonight, the Escanaba Eskymos welcome Manistique.  You can hear the game on Kix 104.7, with tipoff around 7:30.

Sportscast Monday, Jan. 27, 2020

In High School Wrestling over the weekend, the Escanaba Eskymos won their third straight Upper Peninsula championship Saturday in Marquette.  Esky scored 209 points, followed by Marquette with 179 and Gladstone at 156 and a half.

In High School Boys Basketball last night, the Escanaba Eskymos held off Houghton 71-67 behind 29 points from Peyton Fedell.  Escanaba is now 7-4 on the season and will host Manistique Tuesday night.

In High School Boys Basketball tonight, Escanaba travels to Houghton, Gladstone welcomes Negaunee, Rapid River entertains Bark River Harris, Big Bay De Noc visits Munising Baptist, and Manistique goes to Iron Mountain.

Sportscast Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020

In High School Girls Basketball last night, Escanaba lost to undefeated Menominee 79-52.  Taylor Ray led the Eskymos with 20 points.  Escanaba is now 7-5 on the season and will host Bark River Harris Friday night.

In High School Girls Basketball last night, Nicole Kamin scored a game high 25 points to lead the Escanaba Eskymos past the Kingsford Flivvers 56-46.  Elsewhere, North Central knocked off Norway 58-42, Gwinn nipped Bark River Harris 46-45, Big Bay De Noc beat Maplewood Baptist 46-29 and Menominee stayed undefeated with a 59-44 victory over West Iron County.

Sportscast Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020

In High School Boys Basketball last night, the Escanaba Eskymos improved to 4-0 in the Great Northern Conference with a 64-44 victory over Menominee.  Peyton Fedell scored 23 points for the Eskymos, who travel to Westwood next Tuesday.  Elsewhere, Gladstone lost to Westwood 69-51, Rapid River got by Manistique 57-52 and Engadine beat Big Bay De Noc 61-19.

Sportscast Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2020

In High School Boys Basketball last night, Mid Peninsula defeated Superior Central 52-36, North Central downed North Dickinson 67-53, and Manistique lost to Munising 66-59 in overtime.  Tonight, the Escanaba Eskymos travel to Menominee to meet the Maroons.  You can hear the game on our sister station Kix 104.7, with tipoff around 7:30 eastern time.

Sportscast Monday, Jan. 13, 2020

The Escanaba Eskymo gymanstics team is headed to the state regional tournament for the first time in school history.  The Eskymos scored 120.70 points in a triangular meet with Marquette and Negaunee Saturday in Marquette, their 4th score of more than 120 points, which is needed to qualify for regionals.

High School Hockey this morning, the Escanaba Eskymos shut out Bay City 7-0 at the North-South Showcase in Traverse City.  Escanaba meets Midland Dow at the Showcase tomorrow.

In High School Girls Basketball last night, Mid Peninsula fell to North Dickinson 67-32.  Tonight, the Escanaba Eskymos are tentatively scheduled to host Gwinn, weather permitting.  If the game is played, you can hear it on KIX 104.7, with tipoff around 7:15 p.m.

In High School Boys Basketball last night, the Escanaba Eskymos defeated Marquette 63-56.  Brandon Frazer scored 24 points for the Eskymos, who beat Marquette for the first time since 2010.

In High School Boys Basketball last night, Gladstone lost to Iron Mountain 79-64, Rapid River downed Carney-Nadeau 55-48, Mid Peninsula dropped a 49-44 decision to Forest Park, Negaunee handled Manistique 67-31 and Norway nipped North Central 47-45.

Sportscast Monday, Jan. 6, 2020

In High School Wrestling over the weekend, the Escanaba Eskymos took first place at the Elks Invitational in Escanaba.  The Eskymos won championships in five different weight classes and led on the team scoreboard with 224 points.  Coopersville finished second at 160 points, while Gladstone took third place with 147 and half points.  The 47th annual tournament drew 18 schools.

In High School Girls Basketball last night, Gladstone downed Ishpeming 42-35.  Megan Crow had 17 points and ten rebounds for the Braves.  Tonight, the Escanaba Eskymos entertain the Alpena Wildcats.  You can hear the game on our sister station Kix 104.7, with tipoff around 5:30 p.m.
