Non-stop flights between Escanaba and Detroit will return in October, however flights to Minneapolis will be discontinued. It is the result of an effort between SkyWest Airlines, Delta County Airport Administration and the Delta County Airport Board to find a way to have a plane dedicated to Escanaba and still address the airline’s concern over s shortage of pilots.
Escanaba will share a flight with the airport in Pellston from Sept. 12 to Oct. 5. That schedule concerned Delta County Airport Manager Andrea Nummilien that there would not be enough seats for passengers in Escanaba. The new schedule will begin on Oct. 6 with two flights between Escanaba and Detroit.
